Focus: With persistent drive to achieve success, my goal is to help you live healthier lifestyle, no matter your fitness level.

Personal Bio: As a native of the Lewis-Clark Valley, I grew up playing softball, basketball, golf, and running x-country. I played all but softball in high school and received a golf scholarship to Lewis-Clark State College. I decided I wanted to better myself, so 4 years ago I started my fitness journey. Since that time I have competed in three NPC bikini/figure competitions throughout the Northwest. Going through the training program, I knew this was a lifestyle I would enjoy and want to be continue, not only for myself but to help others achieve their fitness goals.

Fitness is not about being better than someone else. It’s about being better than you used to be.

I am a married father of four and the newest powerlifting coach at Smart Fitness. I started my fitness journey about ten years ago to lose weight and get in shape after I reached nearly 300lbs. At the beginning, I had no idea what I was doing. I tried to watch videos and listen to friends and family on the best ways to lose weight and quickly found out that everyone had a different idea of what healthy was. I tried every fad diet in the book I would lose weight at first, but I would always eventually end up gaining it back. I had to learn that every person’s body is different and what worked for one person, may not always work for me.

I reached out to a lot of different personal trainers and found that most of them were just in the business of making money, not teaching me how to live a healthier lifestyle. They never asked about my personal goals, other than how much weight do you want to lose and how fast, and then just provided me with a generic way to lose that weight. Because every person is different, most of these generic workouts did nothing for me. Experiencing this made me realize that there needs to be more trainers out there who really care about the individual and what that individual needs to lose weight or be healthy. Because of this struggle, I decided that I wanted to become a personal trainer to help others the way I needed to be helped.

After a long road of try this and try that, I got serious about my goals, and started doing my own research on weight loss and nutrition and finally found my passion in powerlifting. I have lost 100 lbs. and have become a certified powerlifting /strength training coach and certified personal trainer though the National Council for Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT). I now just want to be able to help others reach their goals, whether its losing weight, putting on muscle or just simply trying to live a healthier lifestyle.
